Word of Peace partners with parents to provide 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th graders an opportunity to connect their faith to their daily lives, serve God's people, study Martin Luther's catechism, and prepare students to reaffirm their baptism promises in 9th grade.
Confirmation Worship Note
Confirmation takes place on Wednesday evenings at two different times.
Early Groups meet from 5:30-7 PMLate Groups meet from 6:30-8 PM
The time group your child attends will depend on the group time you selected on your registration form.
Twice a month, Confirmation students attend a large group learning time that includes music, games, skits, and a weekly lesson taught by a pastor. Students also meet in small groups of 6-8 peers that are led by an adult volunteer guide.
Once a month, small groups participate in a fellowship event or a servant event. Fellowship events are a time to have fun and get to know one another and servant events are a time for students to serve God's world by helping people in our community.
Paper registration forms are available outside the Youth Ministry office.
Students are confirmed in January of their 9th Grade year. Beginning in September of their 9th grade year, they spend this time to prepare for the affirmation of their baptisms.
Paper registration forms are available outside the Children's Ministry office.
Small Group Guide
At least 60 adults are needed to love, mentor and reinforce the large group lesson to 8-10 students through small group discussions and servant/fellowship events. All training, curriculum and materials are provided. We encourage you to partner with a friend or spouse to co-lead your small group.
Caring adults who roam hallways and aisles during small group and large group time. Bouncers encourage students to have positive, respectful behavior and help enforce rules.
Adults who help on Wednesday evenings with the administrative tasks for confirmation. We ask that you commit to at least twice a month (you choose the dates).
Confirmation Administrative Support
Help with miscellaneous tasks that are needed to make confirmation possible. There are options to work on these tasks at home and/or at church.
