CELEBRATE COMMUNION!

    Communion at Word of Peace

    At Word of Peace, all are welcome to the table. This means, that during worship everyone - anyone, of any age - is welcome to receive communion. There are no prerequisites.  You can also learn more by reading Children & Holy Communion here. Please contact Pastor Kristsa Strum with your questions.

     

    5th Grade Celebrate Communion! Class

    Students are invited to choose between one of three Celebrate Communion sessions: Fall, Winter, and Spring.

    Parents join their child for this experiential learning class. Classes are taught by our Pastors and Parish Worker Beth Brekke.

    After completing the class, students will have the opportunitity to celebrate their Communion during a designated worship service while wearing a special stole that they have created themselves.

    Pastor Krista oversees the ministries of children, youth,  family ministry and adult education.  She was ordained in 2006 and is a new Pastor at Word of Peace in 2011. 

    She is married to Matt and they live in Rogers with their two beautiful daughters. 

    Being from Iowa they are Hawkeye fans but when asked who she would root for between the Vikings and the Packers, she would root for the Vikings.

    Beth Brekke is the mother of four and grandmother of five.

    After her graduation from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, she taught public school, worked in a settlement house and served as a Parish Education Director. She has servce as Parish Worker at Word of Peace since 1992.

    Beth enjoys learning new things, leading Bible studies and parenting classes as well as working with the BeFrienders, Evangelism & Visitations team and many other groups.

    KEEPING THE PROMISE

    Each year, Word of Peace hosts several family events designed to remind us of the important promises made to God and our children during Baptism.

    These events partner with parent to provide them with their resources they need to grow their family's faith.
