With your contributions, we will continue to grow new and existing ministries,responsibly care for and operate the church organization and fulfill our growing congregational needs. Giving to the General Fund The General Fund monies are used to pay for the operational costs associated with the church. Your offering provides for the music, communion supplies, candles, lighting and more that make our worship experience meaningful. It also provides our children and adults with the tools and supplies needed to learn about Jesus - things like bibles, paper, scissors, tables and chairs. Word of Peace also supports missions and organizations in need that reach far beyond our church with our offerings – C.R.O.S.S. food shelf, the ELCA, Jordan New Life, Camp Wapo, Sharing & Caring Hands, and many more! Our staff salaries, office equipment, and maintenance expenses related to operating the building such as heat, lights, sanitation expenses and snow removal are all paid for from the General Fund offerings. Giving to the Building Fund The Growing in Grace building fund has ended. If you pledged to the Growing in Grace fund, we ask that you continue to give your pledged amount until the new fund begins June 1, 2012. Your Growing in Grace offerings allowed us to build a 6,000 square foot addition to our building. In this new space, more children can learn about Jesus, more adults can learn and teach others, and more groups from our church community and surrounding areas can enjoy fellowship. Giving to the Endowment Fund The Word of Peace Endowment Fund as a perpetual fund which receives, holds and administers all gifts of money or property designated for this fund. More Information about the Endowment Fund Make a Gift of Stock Making a gift of appreciated stock can benefit you as well as Word of Peace. Donating stock you’ve held for more than 12 months avoids capital gains taxes on the increase in the stock’s value and allows you to receive its full, fair market value on the date of the gift. This is an excellent vehicle for stock that has appreciated substantially in value. Proceeds from the sale of your donated stock will be used to further the ministry at Word of Peace, or it may be given to the Building fund or the Endowment fund.
