    Who are we?

We are a youth ministry that cares deeply and loves youth of all ages.  We believe that we are called to be disciples of Christ and through the grace, love and mercy of Jesus Christ we show that love to others through service to others.  Our vision is for all youth to know that they are loved by Christ and for them to experience Jesus in a way that will allow their faith to grow through out their life time.

Word of Peace youth ministry works with youth in grades 6th-12th as well as college age youth.

    What do we do?

We believe it is essential in today's world to take time to build our relationship with Jesus Christ as well as have a great time doing it.  Whether it is through confirmation, retreats, events, concerts, movie nights, small groups, Bible studies, summer camp or mission trips we love creating and providing opportunities for youth to experience Christ in their lives.

    Who can come?

God loves everyone....so all are welcome.  We love to have a packed house where everyone is surrounded by friends both old and new.

How do I get more information/sign up?

This website is a great resource for starters.  Here you will find calenders, forms, information, and dates and times.  You can also check us out of facebook (currently only high school), talk to your friends that come to Word of Peace, just show up or give us a call and/or send us an email.

Summer 2012 ELCA National Youth Gathering - July 17-24, 2012
July 17-24, 2012, ELCA youth will gather—again—in New Orleans, not to cheer on the Saints football team, but to stand with the saints of God in that place: the young and the old, the privileged and the uninvited, the lonely and the claimed, the powerful and the shamed, the weak and the strong, those who have built new homes and those still struggling to rebuild.

Why go back? Because New Orleans ha
s more to teach us about fresh starts made possible by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. New Orleans has more to teach us about generosity and about how to be good neighbors. New Orleans has more to teach us about the house that God is building.

Please join us in the summer of 2012 in New Orleans. There is more to be done, and more to learn.

    Go to
www.elca.org/gathering and become part of the movement, ELCA for NOLA!

The ELCA Youth Gathering recommends that youth participants be between 14 and 18 years of age and entering 9th grade in the fall of 2012 (completed 8th in the spring of 2012) or just graduated from high school in the spring of 2012.
